ABOUT GRAP
Empowering Rohingya for a Brighter Future
About GRAP: Global Rohingya Alliance for Peace (GRAP) – Overview
The Global Rohingya Alliance for Peace (GRAP) is a Rohingya community organization based in Malaysia with an international initiative aimed at uniting Rohingya communities worldwide through solidarity, empowerment, and collaborative efforts. GRAP strives to elevate the voices of the Rohingya and ensure meaningful inclusion of Rohingya in decisions that impact the Rohingya’s future. Our mission centers on promoting peace, advocating for justice, and achieving a sustainable resolution to the Rohingya crisis. We aim to advocate for the rights of the Rohingya people, seeking accountability for those who have inflicted persecution and displacement. We believe that true peace can only be attained through honesty, acknowledgment, and the restoration of rights. Focused on empowering youth and exploring educational pathways to access education, GRAP aims to create opportunities for young Rohingya people to develop into confident leaders. GRAP aims to collaborate with NGOs, international organizations, community schools, and universities to widen access to educational and scholarship opportunities, both locally and abroad. On a global scale, GRAP aims to engage in advocacy through international platforms, ASEAN discussions, and human rights events to share genuine Rohingya narratives, counter misinformation, and enhance international awareness. Locally in Malaysia, we aim to work closely with policymakers, academic institutions, and civil society to promote social inclusion and support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for our people. Through intercultural dialogue, awareness-raising campaigns, and volunteer efforts, GRAP promotes peace and challenges stereotypes. We are dedicated to fostering empathy, dismantling xenophobia, and replacing fear with understanding. GRAP champions peace, dignity, justice, and the preservation of the Rohingya identity. Our efforts extend across Malaysia, Bangladesh, and Myanmar, always aiming to secure a future where Rohingya individuals can live freely, with rights, and in peace. We welcome every individual, institution, and organization to join us if they can align with GRAP goals to ensure that the Rohingya not only survive but flourish with dignity and hope.
Our organization is dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of Rohingya people by providing support, advocating for their rights, and working towards sustainable solutions. We are committed to creating a brighter future for the Rohingya community through our various initiatives and collaborative efforts.
The Global Rohingya Alliance for Peace (GRAP) is honored to be supported by the North South Initiative (NSI), an esteemed organization that shares our commitment to justice, dignity, and peace. Their recognition of our passion, mission, and vision strengthens our resolve to continue amplifying Rohingya voices, advancing human rights, and building a future rooted in equality and solidarity.
